We love a good wedding

St Clere might as well have been built for weddings.  As well as the classical country house wedding backdrop,  it’s the unexpected nooks and crannies that really creates the romance (and those incredible photographs!).  Cast iron gates, ancient brickwork, established hedging, the thorn arch and the fairy mound are all elegant and flattering.  Then of course there are the more obvious draws, the listed St Clere House, the listed buildings around the garden such as the orangery or the garden room and the lake which reflects the temple, St Clere and the incredible North Downs setting.  For a sneak preview, please have a look at the weddings page of the website or our Pinterest page (www.pinterest.co.uk/stclere).  Alternatively one of our recommended photographers, Sam Areman, has a St Clere wedding blog which has some of our favourite shots;  blog post

St Clere is now partnering with The Wedding Dolls (www.theweddingdolls.co.uk) who are the best wedding planners we’ve come across.  We include their ‘Dolly on the Day’ package within the venue hire charge, and we get great feedback about how helpful this is.  Some of our brides and grooms choose to upgrade the arrangement with The Wedding Dolls and have even more support from them in the build up to the big day.

We have very few weddings at St Clere, a maximum of five a year.  We want every one to be individual and precious; the last thing we want is to create a well worn wedding package.  Over the years we have  seen what a difference it makes if the key suppliers and partners chosen by the bridge and groom disappoint on the day.  Once, the St Clere team were so appalled by a marquee being so crumpled, we headed down with steam irons to try and remedy the situation.  Another time the florist had made an enormous bouquet when the bride had requested something really small, so Eliza and Martin (the estate Foreman) ended up taking most of the flowers out and re-arranging and re-tying a new bouquet as the bride was walking towards the ceremony.

As a consequence we prefer when our brides and grooms choose suppliers we know are excellent and will over-deliver.  Please see below for some of our trusted suppliers and partners.
